Prepare a Room for a Guest With Cat Allergies - Take all cat-related items out of the room, including toys, cat beds and scratching posts.
Sprinkle the carpeting in the room with a pet hair and dander lifting carpet powder. Wait a few hours (or overnight if possible) and vacuum the carpeting thoroughly.
Open all windows (no screen) and turn on a clean fan pointed to the window to move cat hair that is flying around in the air out of the room.
Wash the curtains that will be in your guest's room or completely replace them with new curtains.
Wash the bed linen in hot water. If possible, just purchase a brand new set of linens for the guest and put them back up when they leave for all of your future allergic guests.
You are having guests over and all of the plans are set. Then, you hear the four words that just about every cat owner dreads, "I'm allergic to cats." Now you have to take a trip to some stores and "cat proof" your house. You have to get a few supplies in order to thoroughly prepare a room for an allergic guest, since cat hair has a tendency to get everywhere. Otherwise, you will be plagued with a sneezing, wheezing guest who can't get out of your house fast enough and might even cut the trip short. Does this Spark an idea?
